 Grains of Sense® is a family owned and operated business located in historic Staunton, Virginia; a quaint, vibrant community in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
The genesis for our business was to provide our family with healthy and wholesome foods that are free from preservatives, conditioners, and highly refined wheat and sugars that are commonly found in foods today.
To complement what we were eating, we also wanted to enjoy each day with wholesome, freshly roasted coffee; coffee brewed within hours of the roasting process. We also wanted to enjoy coffee that we knew had been grown using healthier, earth-friendly sustainable farming practices, and, were Fair Trade Certified, Rain Forest Alliance Certified or direct relationship where we knew the health and well-being of the growers, workers and their families involved were given consideration and being improved upon.
Our interest and commitment is still the same, today, as it was before the inception of this business in 2006. That being said, we continue to focus on a lifestyle that supports healthful, nourishing habits and share with you the coffees we enjoy, as do a large number of our customers, coffees that are Fair Trade or Rain Forest Alliance Certified, and that through these organizations are verified to have been grown and harvested following sustainable agricultural practices.
Inspired and reassured by our faith and encouraged by our families and friends, we continue to share what we have been enjoying, and invite you, your friends and your family to enjoy it too....
